Hollandplant has especially arranged its greenhouse 46 for the propagation of among other things cucumber plants. Extra lighting is introduced (4500 lux) which greatly enhances quality. and there are greater possibilities in the finishing stages of production due to the generous ventilating system. In addition the greenhouse is completely insect - proofed by the use of netting with a very fine gauze. This enables us to produce cucumber plants which are free of insects, have an inbuilt speedy growth condition, with sufficient dry matter; all the hall-marks of a quality plant.
Besides the propagation on rockwool, we have a wide experience with propagation of cucumber plants on 'perlite'.
