 Unique camera-sorting machine
Hollandplant pays continuous attention to quality and innovation.
This has enabled the company to become market leader as a propagator of large quantities of quality vegetable plants. The most recent, and important innovation is the unique Hollandplant camera-sorting machine. With this machine, the young seedlings are sorted on a plant volume basis. This results in very uniform plants, which can be transplanted and delivered to a higher standard. Hollandplant has developed the machine in cooperation with a specialist company. After sorting, the plants are placed in a seedling tray with wider spacing until transplanting. The plants have more space and they are aggregated with plants of the same size. The result is a more uniform growth with less competition, especially during the last days before delivery, which is a big advantage for the finished product.
Blue delivery tray
Another example of innovative thinking is the development and usage of the so-called 'blue delivering tray'. Instead of the large volume propagator boxes, Hollandplant uses there standard low volume trays. This enables the customer to carry out the planting process more quickly and efficiently, leading to less delays and lower labour costs.
The handling of the empty tray is also much easier and lends itself to better hygiene.
Flexibility
The Hollandplant production facilities are designed to accommodate both large and small volume orders. The customer can order not only a variety of his choosing, sowing or planting date, but also specific pot types, number of plants per square meter and with or without assimilation lighting. Speed of delivery will be scheduled in accordance with the speed of planting and plant development.
The wishes of each customer are discussed in detail as part and parcel of the order, and before production starts. Our planning department takes pride in making sure that every detail is correctly included in the specification of the action plan.
 Paprika plants (pepper)
Hollandplant has always been at the centre of paprika cultivation in the Netherlands. Our experience with this vegetable plant is, as a result, very extensive. Our plants distinguish themselves by way of their optimum uniformity, speed and strength of growth.
 Tomato plants
In addition to the standard tomato plant, Hollandplant also specialises in grafting onto several rootstocks.
Studies are continuing into further maximisation of the grafting technique and its long term benefits to the customer. Grafting is possible under, or above the cotyledons. The combination of grafting and topping is also possible and a great deal of experience has been gained in this aspect in recent years. The very light greenhouses are essential for the propagation of autumn tomatoes, as is the substantial lighting capacity and the generous ventilation capacity. This is of unprecedented value to the benefit of the finished plant and its future production potential.
 Cucumber plants
Hollandplant makes both fast, generative cucumber plants as well as plants produced more slowly with extra body. The greenhouse in which the cucumber plants are being produced has an extra assimilation lighting of 4500 lux. Hollandplant also has expertise in the use of 'perlite' pots.
 Egg plants (Aubergine)
Hollandplant provides both grafted and non-grafted plants. These can be produced from a choice of several rootstocks.
